Thomas Cook Ceased Trading: Information for Policy Holders

Customers already abroad

If you are currently abroad and your flight was with Thomas Cook the CAA are providing new flights to return you to the UK. 

These repatriation flights will only be operating for the next two weeks (until 6 October 2019). 

After this date you will have to make your own travel arrangements.

Customers yet to travel out of the UK

The CAA have advised that all future holidays and flights booked with Thomas Cook are cancelled as of 23 September 2019.

If you are booked on a Thomas Cook Airlines flight, please do not go to your UK airport, as your flight will not be operating. 

Package Holiday Bookings

Your holiday is ATOL protected.

ATOL Protected passengers with future bookings are entitled to a full refund for their cancelled holiday. The CAA will be launching a service to manage all refunds on Monday 30 September, once the flying operation has progressed. This refund service will seek to process all refunds within two months of receipt of a fully completed claims form.

Flight Only Bookings

You can submit a claim under the Scheduled Airline Failure section of your travel insurance.

Please note in the first instance you will be expected to refer to your Bank or Credit Card provider. If you are unsuccessful then please obtain refusal confirmation as part of your claim.

Travel Insurance if you are no longer travelling

If you have travel insurance in place and you will no longer be travelling due to Thomas Cook ceasing trading, providing you are not making a claim you will be able to either:

Transfer your insurance to a new holiday once you know the date.  Please note, there will be no administration charge for this, but there may be additional premium to pay if the trip is longer or to a different destination.

or

Cancel your insurance and obtain a full refund.
