International Cruises Allowed to Restart!

Added 05/08/2021

Fantastic news if, like us, you enjoy a cruise holiday.  International cruises from England are now able to restart and the hope is that the devolved nations will also lift their ban on cruise holidays.

International cruises have been banned for 16 months as a result of the pandemic and there are many in the travel industry and general public who will be really excited at the prospect of their return.

Due to the logistics involved  it will take a few weeks before sailings start, but the cruise operators are all planning their return:

P&O will begin cruises of the Mediterranean on 25 September, whilst Cunard’s and Saga’s first international cruises will depart in October.

Cruises around the UK have been allowed since May and the learnings from these sailings has been a key factor in determining whether it is safe to start international cruises from England again.

The Department of Transport said that the decision to allow international cruises to resume came "following the close monitoring of epidemiological evidence, gained through the restart of the domestic cruise industry earlier this year".
