Experience the Long Night of the Museums in Munich on 16 October

On 16 October, various museums in Munich will open their doors for the annual Long Night of the Museums event. Around 90 museums and galleries take part in the Long Night of the Museums, and each establishment remains open late into the night.

Some of the museums in Munich are laying on special events for the Long Night of the Museums. The Bavarian National Museum will have a special event focusing on fashion art, involving guided tours, fashion shows and live jazz performances.

Meanwhile, the Münchner Stadtmuseum offers a night time ramble through 200 years of the Oktoberfest. Other museums in Munich will have spooky themes and exhibitions revolving around the night sky.

Get to know more about your gnashers at the Teeth exhibition at Paläontologisches Museum or heighten your sense of touch at the Museum Reich der Kristalle’s ‘Feel Bar’.

For true night lovers, parties and music will be taking place all over Munich, which will run into the small hours. There really will be a little something for all tastes.

There will also be a special program for children during the day between 14:00 and 18:00. This includes their own guided tours and handicraft work to keep them occupied.

A ticket for the Long Night of the Museums costs just €15, which allows you access to all of the museums in Munich that are taking part. The ticket price also includes unlimited access to a shuttle service that is provided especially for the event.
