Travel Insurance
Hernia ¶
If you have a hernia and are planning to travel, arranging appropriate travel insurance is essential. A hernia is considered a pre-existing medical condition. Failing to disclose all pre-existing medical conditions could result in your policy being invalid.
When purchasing your policy you will need to complete medical screening. Be prepared to provide details such as:
- The type of hernia (inguinal, umbilical, hiatal, incisional, etc.)
- Whether you have had surgery or are awaiting surgery
- Have you ever had a procedure to widen a narrowing of the oesophagus (food pipe)?
- Any recent symptoms or complications
- If you are on medication
If you have been advised to undergo surgery, you could consider our optional waiting list cover. This way if your appointment comes through and clashes with your trip you could be covered for cancellation.
