Travel update: Support for customers affected by the disruption in the Middle East
Published
Updated

We understand that the current situation in parts of the Middle East may be concerning for customers who are travelling in the region or planning journeys that pass through major hubs in the area such as Dubai.
At Goodtogoinsurance.com, the safety and wellbeing of our customers is our top priority. We want to reassure customers that support is available if your travel plans are disrupted.
I am already abroad and the FCDO has changed the travel advice for where I am now, a future destination or part of my route home. What should I do? ¶
If your return journey is delayed due to the current escalation in the region, your emergency medical cover will be automatically extended to cover the remainder of your trip while you arrange your return travel. This extension applies at no additional cost, provided you take the next available flight or route home once travel options become available to you.
If your travel plans are affected, we recommend that you:
- Contact your airline, cruise operator or travel provider as soon as possible to arrange the next available return travel
- Register your presence with the UK Government to get the latest information.
- Follow the latest government travel advice (please find the latest FCDO updates here
- Keep documentation of any changes or delays to your journey
I am due to travel to an area the FCDO now advises against travel to. How does this affect my planned trip? ¶
If you travel against FCDO advice your travel insurance policy will be invalid.
In the first instance you should contact your airline or travel provider to rearrange your trip. If your flight or trip is cancelled, you may be entitled to a refund or alternative arrangement from your travel provider. For customers with Single Trip policies, if you need to adjust your travel insurance dates please phone our customer support team on +44 (0)330 162 8683.
There is no cover for claims arising from events that were known or had already begun before you purchased your policy, including the current conflict in the Middle East. Our emergency assistance team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help customers who need medical support while abroad. Please phone +44 (0)1444 465 573 to speak with them.
If you have concerns about your cover, our customer support team is available to help explain your options - they are available on +44 (0)330 162 8683, and our opening hours are Monday to Friday - 9am to 7pm, and Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays - 9am to 5.30pm GMT
We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates if further support is needed.
