Yes - you can buy a policy on behalf of someone else, but you must have their permission and declare their details and medical conditions accurately for them to be quoted correctly. If you need to make any amendments, you will need to call us and the lead traveller on the policy will need to give written or verbal consent to allow the "authorised person" to make any further changes. Please note that it is important to declare all existing medical conditions correctly and in full - under-declaration can potentially cause serious problems in the event of a claim including the claim not being paid in full (see our FAQs on under-declaration in the Claims section).
- Single trip - For a single trip, you policy covers you for cancellation (not silver) from the date of purchase, the dates you enter must be from when your trips starts and ends (date you come back into the UK).
- Annual multi-trip (annual) - For annual policies, start cover from the date you want cancellation cover to begin (usually the day you buy). Please note that there is a maximum AMT duration for each trip taken (see Trip Duration FAQ), and all trips must be covered for the full duration and start and end in the UK for cover to be valid.
