October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so we’d like to take the opportunity to highlight the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer.

The number of people who are diagnosed with breast cancer each year is increasing; the good news is that survival rates are also increasing partly due to early detection and better awareness.

Because Breast Cancer Awareness Month is well established in the UK and there are several breast cancer charities doing a lot of good work in this area, you may be forgiven for thinking that the general public knows all they need to know about the signs and risks of breast cancer.

But did you know that there is more than one type of breast cancer? Not all breast cancers show as a lump and not all breast lumps are cancerous. Breast cancer can also affect men, not just women.

The charity Breast Cancer Care plays a key part in raising awareness of the early signs of the disease, they operate breast awareness workshops throughout the UK. These workshops give women, and men, the knowledge they need to be able to spot the early signs of cancer and get them checked out by a GP quickly.

Travel insurance for breast cancer patients and survivors

As more and more women are being diagnosed with breast cancer and surviving, the availability of suitable travel insurance products is becoming more important.

If you have or have had breast cancer it is important to declare it when you buy travel insurance to ensure that you are properly covered if you become ill and need medical treatment whilst you are away.

Don’t be tempted to travel uninsured. If you don’t have travel insurance in place you would be liable to pay your own medical bills which can quickly amount to thousands of pounds.

You can keep the price of cancer travel insurance down by planning your holiday destination carefully. Travel insurance to the USA, Canada or the Caribbean will be considerably more expensive than anywhere else in the world. If you are worried about the cost of travel insurance for cancer why not get some travel insurance quotes for different destinations before you book your holiday.

Goodtogoinsurance.com are proud to provide travel insurance for all types of breast cancer, you can get a quote in a matter of minutes and be issued with immediate cover online or by phone.
