To be properly covered by your travel insurance for Medical Expenses and Repatriation and Cancellation or Curtailment due to illness, you must declare all of your existing medical conditions.An existing or pre-existing medical condition is any condition which would cause you to answer yes to one of the following questions, or a previous medical condition which still has an impact on your current health. 1. Have you taken any prescription medication or received medical treatment in the last 2 years? 2. Have you attended a medical practitioner's surgery, hospital, or clinic (outpatient or inpatient) in the last 2 years? 3. Have you ever had any stress, anxiety, depression, or psychiatric condition such as eating disorders, drug or alcohol abuse or mental illness for which you have been treated or diagnosed. 4. Are you awaiting any medical treatment or investigation? 5. Have you been diagnosed by a medical practitioner as suffering from a terminal illness? If your health changes between purchasing your policy and your travel date you should notify us so that we can update your policy. 1. Medical conditions which are controlled by medication, such as high cholesterol or high blood pressure must be declared. 2. A medical condition from which you have recovered, but have still had check-ups or follow-up appointments for in the last 2 years needs to be declared. 3. Conditions for which you have been prescribed medication must be declared, even if you have decided not to take the medication.

Do I need insurance for a UK-only cruise?

Yes. Most cruise lines require insurance even for "cruises to nowhere" or UK coastal trips. Important Note: For UK cruises, our medical limit is £1,000 by default. If your cruise provider requires a higher limit (e.g., £2 million), please call our team at 0330 162 8683 to increase your cover.

Cabin Confinement: A benefit payable if you are confined to your cabin for more than 24 hours due to injury or illness
Missed Port Departure: Covers reasonable additional travel expenses incurred to reach the next overseas port if the vehicle in which you are travelling to reach your international cruise departure point becomes un-drivable due to mechanical failure or being involved in an accident, or your public transport is delayed, preventing you from being able to check-in on time for your outward departure
Itinerary Change: Covers the cancellation of a scheduled port visit due to adverse weather or timetable restrictions.
Unused Excursions: Covers excursions, pre-booked before you go on your trip, which you are unable to use as a direct result of being hospitalised due to an accident or illness.
Cruise Interruption: Covers additional travel and accommodation expenses incurred to reach the next port to re-join your cruise if you have a temporary illness requiring hospital treatment on dry land, or if your passport is lost or stolen after your international departure but before embarkation of your planned cruise, or during disembarkation ashore on one of the scheduled stops

Make sure that your cruise insurance policy provides cover for all of the countries you will be visiting, including any stopovers on the way to start your cruise. It doesn't matter if you are only going to be in a country for one day; it's important to be covered for emergency medical treatment in every country you visit. Please note, all countries on your itinerary should be declared on your policy, even if you do not intend to disembark the ship while in port.
